hi all
well i will try and put a few things down here from time to time.
i can't really see many openings for positive thoughts. i just seem to be seeing life with tinted glasses that expose the things that i usually don't want to see. i am trying to stay positive though.
somedays it is easier then others.
just a few days of this and then i will be back on track. not much to tell now.
late...

Denver Trip

| Denver trip 6/4/07 |
Well Mari & I just returned from another quick outing. I have not been back to Denver in 10 years or so, and haven't lived there in 19. I was so excited to see it again.
I was not so impressed with Denver itself, however our trip the mountains made the whole trip worthwhile. When we arrived at the Denver airport (it is like 25 miles from town) we rented a car (or rather giant suv). I had asked for a sport utility vehicle, but was given a choice between a Mercury Mountaineer (very large SUV), or a HUMMER!
I feel the Hummer is really the representation of everything wrong with white people in this country...(meaning this Bay Area boy seriously judges those who sit in their Hummer while the engine runs, talking on the cel phone about how dangerous the world is.) ...ahhh I digress.
So I take the Mercury and feel bad, until we took a day trip to the mountains. I took Mari for her first ever 4-wheeling experience. Oh if the Budget Rent a Car people had seen us crossing that river in that SUV...haha!
I have rambled enough. We had lunch with Chris Ewing of my High School days. He is great! The Pics are of his Daughter and Grand-Daughter.
Ta ta all!

The transitions never cease to amaze me. What will really amaze me would be a response from him (you) to an email.

Update on Live Food!

Well I made a post earlier about a place Mari & I ate dinner at in the Mission District called Gratitude. I gave a less then stellar review and in doing so drew the attention of numerous alternative eaters who let me know that I was to quick to judge. Now I must tell you that actually it was not the food (although the carrot soup was indeed hideous), that was the reason I was so unforgiving in my report to you all. No it was the fact that it was a modern day version of John Belushi as the fry cook in the the famous "Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger" skit on Saturday Night Live. I looked past the amount of metal contained in the pierced skin of the staff...i.e enough to to keep any of their dinners at the bottom of the Bay (yes...San Francisco bay stupid) if they were so inclined to jump in after eating the soup. I also looked past the Dreds...( I'm sorry I just can't figure this one out,,I guess I have actually become old, but in my youth I was also wild and unkept...but not combing my hair...that was never in the equation). I looked past the fact that each menu item is in fact an affirmation forcing the unsuspecting eater into a series of life changing mantras, (hey I just wanted to eat).
Get this update: We went back, and.... drum roll please (to quote charris)... The food rocked! I even got a kick out of the staff singing happy birthday (load as hell over Happy B-day by the Beatles).
Here is the kicker... My food was cooked. I ordered: YO SOY MUCHO Mexican bowl - Shredded kale under your choice of grain, topped with guacamole, spicy salsa, and sprouts. It was friggin' Killer! But, it was steamed??? go figure? Charris? Can you chime in here...I know you know the RAW FOOD RULES! No Cooking? Right? Yeah so it was a "Warm Grain Bowl" That was cooked... If there is something I do know about it is cooked food...
Oh well...
The controversy continues.
Very Belated Post about a new Ford addition
As written to me from Charris: (now SKOOKUM is definately a Ford name!) ( I see the moniker "Blythe " has been included)... Named after me and Pop? hehe!
There is a new wee little cherub in our house ... in fact it's a cherub Zoo, what with Kashius too! Well as you may imagine we are on Cloud 9 living here at the hot springs and it has just been the perfect place for our family to settle down a bit as we expand with the Universe.
We feel very blessed to have a healthy family and friends like you! We are sending tons of love your way from steaming hot pools of water, wending its way toward you along creeks and rising up between the leaves of the big oak trees around grandma Sallys beautiful home (see pic).
Okay, okay enough with the flowery prose
Youve got a baby to look at!
. Drum roll please
and now, without further ado, we proudly (albeit belatedly) announce the arrival of...
Phoenix Fuller Thelonious True Heart Skookum River Blythe Ford!!!
The attached pictures should open for you automatically, however you will need to double click the attachment titled Baby Valentine.PDF in order to get the juicy details about his birth and name. (please let us know if you have any trouble opening the birth announcement)
All our love and a big ol Happy Valentines Day to you!
